Apple iPhone 4.0 Firmware to Enable Multitasking on iPhone
Users with Jailbroken iPhone devices have already been able to perform multitasking on iPhone. Apple however does not offer multitasking as part of its firmware. Now there are rumors that Apple will support multitasking on iPhone in firmware 4.0. It’s still not sure if this was true for iPad as well, the much hyped tablets that have been widely criticized for lack of multitasking and support for flash in addition to many other reasons.
Apple iPhone users have been demanding multitasking for quite a while now. Many of them performed iPhone jailbreak to achieve multitasking. Apple never supported it officially for two major reasons, battery life and processing resources usage. It should be noted that iPhone OS supports multitasking right from the days of iPhone 2.0, it just prevents you to run third party apps in the background and to run multiple apps at the same time.
