There’s every possibility that upcoming Spirit jailbreak by comex will also enable hacktivation. It’s not certain at the moment but a recent tweet from planetbeing, the man with first software unlocked iPhone 4, hinted that jailbreak and unlock for iPhone will come hand in hand. Here is the tweet:

“We’re gonna be able to give you an unlock with the jailbreak.”

What that means is that Spirit jailbreak will enable hacktivation or that a new version of ultrasn0w unlock for iPhone 4 will release soon as comex’s Spirit jailbreak for iOS 4 & 4.0.1 is released. Let’s see what comes out.

UPDATE: Another tweet from planetbeing confirms that it will be the updated version of ultrasnow (probably ultrasn0w 0.94) that will enable hacktivaton. So it will not come as built-in part feature of Spirit.
