Apple has released Messages Beta for OS X Lion. The app lets you send messages to iOS devices right from your Mac. It’s one of the few apps that Apple has announced with OS X Mountain Lion 10.8. However, unlike other apps, Messages app has also been released for OS X 10.7.x Lion. You can download it free from Apple website, here is the direct download link:
After downloading, you can install the app and start sending messages to your iPhone / iPad or iPod Touch.
Messages app uses your Apple ID, which means you can send message using any platform (iOS or OS X) to send message to any other Apple ID.
