iPhone Dev Team have finally rolled out redsn0w 0.9.6 beta for Windows. Redsn0w lets you jailbreak iOS 4.1 on older devices like iPhone 3GS Old Bootrom, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G. Earlier, Redsn0w 0.9.6 Beta 1 for Mac was released back in September and Windows version is now available for download.

Fred says: Settings window is crashing on iPhone 3G 4.1. Requires a restart.
Restarts are very slow and fail 4 out of 5 times. System just keeps rebooting itself until it gets it right. It is nothing for it to take 15 minutes to reboot just to maybe access the settings window. Even after finally successfully rebooting the setting window still craps out.
All I wanted to JB for was for PDAnet.

Fred says: I have found I get successful reboots only if the phone isn’t plugged in. Fails darn near every time if it is plugged.
I am also having the settings window crash but only the second time I open it.
Video through both opera and safari fails and lock up the browser.
Booting takes forever.

James says: Bump… same problem I believe. Access settings acts like it’s going to open but after a long wait falls back to ‘desktop’.
Normal shutdown or the 2 button reset just keeps rebooting. ( long waits in between reboots). Just sitting at the lock screen with 3G or E with no bars.
I’m curious if anyone else also notices that when this happens the gps can’t find you either. finally, when you leave the gps you still see the little arrow stuck in the top right corner.
Phone seems to otherwise work ( mostly) until I try to reset .
