iPhone Dev Team have released an updated version of redsn0w 0.9.6 with some bug fixes. It’s a minor update and brings nothing really new if you have already jailbroken using redsn0w 0.9.7 and are not using custom boot logos. It doesn’t support untethered jailbreak for newer devices as yet. According to MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team:
For all those using the custom tethered bootlogo cmd line option in redsn0w, rc8 now reports why a given png is invalid
