Greenpois0n iPad Tutorial: Jailbreak iPad 3.2.2

Greenpois0n for Windows is out now to jailbreak 3.2.2 on iPad Wifi & 3G. So, if you had troubles to jailbreak iPad 3.2.2 with limera1n, you can use greenpois0n to jailbreak iPad. Here is simple step by step greenpois0n iPad tutorial on how to jailbreak iPad iOS 3.2.2:

Before you Begin: Update iPad to iOS 3.2.2.

Step 1: Download Greenpois0n

Step 2: Run the greenpois0n app

Step 3: Turn your iPad off and connect it via USB

Step 4: Press “Prepare to Jailbreak (DFU)” button in greenpois0n, you will be guided by Greenpois0n on how to perform next steps.

Step 5: Press and hold sleep button for 2 Seconds.

Step 6: Now Continue holding sleep button and also press and hold home button for 10 seconds.

Step 7: After 10 seconds, release sleep button but continue holding the home button for another 15 seconds.

Step 8: Greenpois0n will show “Ready to Jailbreak” message, click on “Jailbreak!” button at bottom left to start the jailbreak process.

Step 9: Now let greenpois0n complete its process, once done it will show “Jailbreak Complete!" message.

Step 10: That’s all you got to do. You should now have Cydia installed on your device.

It didn’t work for me at first on a 16GB iPad 3G running 3.2.2; tried multiple times. Then I restored the iPad to factory 3.2.2 (after grabbing the SHSH with Tiny Umbrella) and ran Greenpois0n again… SUCCESS!

FWIW: I had tried Limera1n earlier on this same device and it did not work, but did not try restoring the iPad then Limera1n again. I suspect it would work though.

Once it’s jailbroken, you should be able to restore it from a previous backup to get your apps back, although I haven’t tried that yet.

Note: After step 9, I saw the “Connect iTunes” icon on the device, and the progress bar on Greenpois0n went from 0 to 100 about 4 times total. After the last time there was a unix loading screen (bunch of scrolling text) on the iPad. When it came up, it had a “Loader” icon installed, not Cydia. Since I had reset the device it was not on the network yet, I had to give it Internet access then run Loader, then click on “Cydia” to get Cydia to install. It’s possible that if it had Internet access in the first place it would have skipped this step but thought I’d share it if anyone else wants the information.
