How to Grab iPad SHSH Blobs with AutoSHSH

Spirit jailbreak for iPad will be here soon. So it’s important to backup your iPad SHSH blobs so that you can preserve the jailbreak. We have already covered how to grab iPad SHSH files using FirmwareUmbrella. For that you need to have the ECID of your iDevice (see how to get ECID). However, using AutoSHSH to grab SHSH blobs for iPad is much simpler and easier. Follow the steps:

Step 1: Download and install Java Runtime. You will need it to run AutoSHSH.exe file

Step 2: Download AuthSHSH from iH8Sn0w website (Direct download link)

Step 3: Put your iPad in Recovery Mode and connect it with iTunes via USB

Step 4: Run AutoSHSH.exe file. It will show following dialog box:

Make sure that you’re connected to internet and there is just one device connected in Recovery Mode.

Step 5: Now a dialog box will appear asking “Do you have Java Runtime Installed on this PC?” Click Yes (since you installed Java in step 1).

Step 6: Now AutoSHSH application will start, click on “Grab my SHSH Blobs Automaticaly”.

It will ask you to select the location where you want your iPad SHSH files to be saved.

Step 7: Choose a location and name your SHSH file and save it.

That’s it! Your iPad SHSH blobs have been saved and you can downgrade to iPhone 3.2 firmware in future if you accidently update to a newer firmware when it becomes available in future.
