Droid Incredible with Anroid 2.2 Froyo
Apparently, a leaked version of Android 2.2 Froyo for Droid Incredible is found in the wild. Leaked version looks like the official OTA Froyo update from Verizon. If you want to install Froyo on Droid Incredible, here is step by step guide for you:
How to Install Froyo on Droid Incredible
Step 1: Downloading Files
Download DroidIncredible Files Package (contains: PB31IMG.ZIP, payload-update.zip and su-2.3.2.1-ef-signed.zip)
Step 2: Format your SD Card as FAT32.
Step 3: Install downloaded Froyo build (RUU_Incredible_C_Froyo_VERIZON_WWE_3.21.605.1_Radio_2.15.00.07.28_2k4k_NV_1.50_PRL58006_release_143351_signed.exe)
Step 4: Get rom.zip from installed package once Froyo build is installed.
Step 5: Rename rom.zip to PB31IMG.zip and put it on root of your SD Card.
Step 6: Boot into hboot and install PB31IMG.zip.
Important: Installing PB31IMG.zip could be tricky. Your device may reboot into hboot mode or recovery mode during the process. After reboot, when you get into hboot mode again, notice that it should be v 0.92 and S-OFF should still be on. Install PB31IMG.zip again and this should be smooth, your device will reboot again and installation will complete.
Step 7: Put the DroidIncredible files package files on root of SD Card. (Yes, the files that you downloaded in step 2: PB31IMG.zip, payload-update.zip and su-2.3.2.1-ef-signed.zip).
Important: Do note that you will have 2 files with name PB31IMG.zip. One that you renamed from rom.zip (in step 4) and other that you downloaded separately (in step 1). You used the renamed file earlier, now you need to use the downloaded PB31IMG.zip file and put it on root of SD Card as stated in step 7. Older PB31IMG.zip will already be in root of your card, you can either overwrite it with new on or rename the old file to PB31IMG.bak and then copy the PB31IMG.zip.
Step 8: Turn off your device and start it in hboot mode (hold Optical button + Power button to start in hboot mode).
Step 9: Install PB31IMG.zip in hboot mode. (It installs clockwork recovery)
Step 10: After installation, press volume down so that your phone doesn’t reboot. Now select recovery mode.
Your device will start in recovery mode.
Step 11: In recovery mode, select “Install zip from SD-Card” and select payload-update.zip to be installed.
Step 12: Once payload update installation is complete, select install zip option again. Now install su-2.3.2.1-ef-signed.zip.
Step 13: Reboot your device.
You should have rooted Droid Incredible with Froyo.
