We have just had Froyo OTA and Android 2.2 Froyo Stock download update available and guess what, Cyanogen, a member of XDA Forums has posted Quick Rooter that could root your Nexus One running Android 2.2 Froyo. So you can have full root access of Froyo powered Nexus One. Here is what you need to do to perform the root operation:

  • Download and install Android 2.2 Froyo stock on Nexus One (See: how to)
  • Download Quick Rooter

Froyo Quick Rooter will not only give you full access on Nexus One but will also add Busybox and Superuser. Here is the note from Cyanogen:

Just a quickie to enable root access on the new FroYo OTA.. This is *not* a full ROM, but meant to be flashed over an existing stock installation. This is just something I threw together for myself until Google releases the source to AOSP and CM6 can get underway.

Note for users who updated with Froyo OTA update: You need to reflash your recovery with Clockwork or Amon prior to perform the root operation.
