How to Root Nexus One on Android OS 2.1 with Superboot
Have you rooted your Nexus one yet? Or still looking for ways on how to root Google Nexus One on Android 2.1? Rooting Nexus one will give you full access to Nexus One’s file system. This means that once you have rooted your Nexus One, you will be able to change its firmware, set custom themes and install unlimited apps. Guys at Modaco Forums have a solution in Superboot, using which you can root your nexus one. Follow these simple steps (at your own risk) to root your Nexus One:
- Download Superboot after choosing the right version for your Nexus One
- Extract Superboot.zip in a directory

Put Nexus One to bootloader mode
- Turn Nexus One off and remove the battery
- Plug in the USB cable and replace the battery when battery icon appears on screen
- Hold the camera key and press power button

Install Superboot
- Windows: Run “install-superboot-windows.bat” from directory where you extracted superboot
- Mac: Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files, and type ‘chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh’ followed by ‘./install-superboot-mac.sh’
- Linux: Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files, and type ‘chmod +x install-superboot-linux.sh’ followed by ‘./install-superboot-linux.sh’
That’s how to root Google Nexus one on Android 2.1 using Superboot, on your own risk. Enjoy!
