GTA 3 Crashes on iPad 1? You are not Alone!

GTA 3 crashes on iPad 1 quite often! Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto 3 for iOS and Android earlier today. If you tried installing GTA 3 on iPad 1, the experience would have been a bitter one, I’m sure. The game works best with devices powered by A4 or A5 processors, so iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch are already among the devices not supported. Supported devices include:

iPhone 4S
iPhone 4
iPad 2
iPad 1
iPod Touch 4G

Although iPad 1 is powered by A4 processor and is among supported devices, the game doesn’t run that well in the original iPad.

So, if you want to play the game on iPad 1, be prepared for crashes! There is no solution for it so far and we’re not sure if a game update will fix it.

I downloaded it last night and as I began to open the app on my iPad 2 running 5.0.1 it just wouldn’t start. Each time I taped the icon it would go to a black screen then a second later exit out. This same thing happened to me with mortal kombat 3. I don’t know whether my iPad is messed or if iOS 5.0.1 is to blame but I’m officially pissed as I had just bought a $10 redeemable card

The ipad1 has the same processor as the iphone4 (an A4) so that’s not the cause of the crashes. It has half the ram though (only 256mb vs. 512 on the iphone4) so I guess they are having memory problems.

I was quite impressed by the ipad1 frame rate, it’s better than the ps2 was. Fingers crossed for a fix for the crashes because, as you say, it’s unplayable right now.

Must be my age but surely if it doesn’t work we should get a refund? Anyone know if this is possible on iTunes? Not much I know but it is a matter of principle!

I had a few crashes on my iPod Touch 4, but when i redownloaded the game everything works flawlessly. When you have problems just redownload the game.

Can’t seem to get through more then 2 min without crashing on iPad 1 3G jb 4.3.3

I found a way to clock up my iPad1. Now GTA3 is running without crashing. Use #Multicleaner and #Speed Intesifier ! It works fine..

A Jailbreak is necessarily for that….
