Social Bookmarking for Social Bookmarking Service – DiggBar and Now its Diggstr
StumbleUpon may not have the larger audience that Digg enjoys, but it does have one awesome way to filter and present content to end users. It’s the StumbleUpon toolbar; much powerful and interactive enough to be envoy of other Social Bookmarking websites. StumbleUpon has much better mechanism for sharing information; it allows you to start a conversation so you can share your comments and thoughts over a particular web page. That’s why we often see Digg users sharing their Digg links through StumbleUpon toolbar. A while ago, StumbleUpon introduced their browser independent toolbar that didn’t need a compatible browser and the installation. Quick to follow was the industry leader and once-innovative Digg, introducing their Diggbar that offered almost similar functionality that StumbleUpon toolbar offers.

This may have prompted some masses who took a step further by combining Digg’s broad content with StumbleUpon’s wonderful presentation capabilities. The project is named Diggstr and it takes interesting content from Digg and presents it to you, the StumbleUpon way. As it’s currently limited to presenting content from Digg, it can be called as a Social Bookmarking service for a giant Social Bookmarking service, first of its kind, huh?
Diggstr has just launched and it shows up to be promising. Finding and sharing information through Digg is not easy for a social media novice, something that is trademark of StumbleUpon. Now you can find and share Digg content and share it with all social bookmarking services supported by AddThis.com. But there’s still long way to go before users skip sharing Digg content on through StumbleUpon for using Diggstr but its interesting concept nonetheless.
