This release for EVO 3D and Sensation is buggy, as you’d expect from Alpha version. However, if you want to give it a go, you can download it either from XDA or rom RootzWiki. Download links are as under:

Good news for all those who want CynogenMod 7 on HTC Thunderbolt. Devs over at XDA are in process to port CM7 on Thunderbolt. This way you’d be able to get gingerbread on Thunderbolt via CyanogenMod 7. Pre Alpha build is available for download now but it’s really broken and some things don’t work.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • USB Tethering does not work.
  • Phone Testing menu does not display correct radio options. If you play with it, you will have to relfash a Stock based rom to 4G back.
  • Possible Data/Voice bugs and issues.
  • Possible Mic issues on phone calls (try a reboot)
  • GPS is more than likely screwed

Android 2.1 Ported to HTC HD2 Successfully

On July 1, 2010, in Hacks, Mobiles, by TechAdmin

Yes, you heard it right! It’s Android on HTC HD2. A group of developers who call themselves HTC Linux have managed to port Android 2.1 on HTC HD2 smartphone. HTC HD2 runs on Windows Mobile so it wasn’t easier to run Android over it. However, “HTC Linux” team managed to change the code and port Android to HD2.

The concept is very much same as for iDroid (Android on iPhone port). Like iPhone, HD2 also becomes a dual boot device and you can choose any of the available OS at the start.

You can get more details about it at XDA-Forums Thread.
