You can now download Internet Explorer 10 Platform Preview 1 (IE10 PP1). Microsoft has released IE10 platform preview version on MIX11 conference keeping with the trend it started last year with MIX10, by introducing IE9 Platform Preview.

Microsoft has released final version of Internet Explorer 9 for 32 Bit and 64 Bit Windows PCs. IE9 can be installed on any computer running Windows 7 or Windows Vista Service Pack 2. As per IE9 system requirements, it will not be installed on Windows XP. So, XP users are out of luck.
As for Windows Vista users, you need to have Service Pack 2 installed in order to install IE9. Windows 7 users can install IE9, but it’s recommended to have Windows 7 SP1 installed. Here are download links:

Microsoft has confirmed IE9 official release date and that is March 14. Microsoft is looking to release final version of Internet Explorer 9 on Monday March 14, 2011. This was confirmed in official blog post from Microsoft.
Exactly twelve months from the first Platform Preview of IE9, on Monday March 14th we will celebrate the developers and designers who are making a more beautiful web for all of us. We will release the final version of Internet Explorer 9 for download beginning at 9 p.m. Pacific.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview was released back in March 2010. Later in September 2010, they introduced the IE9 Beta release while Internet Explorer 9 RC was released on February 10 and they’ll be releasing the final version this March. As per IE9 system requirements, Windows XP users won’t be able to download Internet Explorer 9 and Windows Vista users will be required to have Service Pack 2 installed.
Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate is now available for download. So, you can download IE9 RC for Windows 32 Bit (x86) and 64 Bit from Microsoft website.

Microsoft has just released IE 9 Beta and Adobe welcomes it with Adobe Square, the Flash Player for Internet Explorer 9 64 Bit version. All new Flash player supports hardware acceleration with IE 9. Here are full release notes from Adobe:
“As part of our collaboration with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer team over the past few months, Flash Player “Square” has been enhanced to directly support the hardware-accelerated graphics capabilities in the newest version of IE. Flash Player “Square” leverages the new GPU support available with Internet Explorer 9 Beta to deliver a faster and more responsive user experience. In our internal testing, we’ve seen significant improvements in Flash Player graphics performance – exceeding 35% in Internet Explorer 9 Beta compared to Flash Player running in previous versions of IE. While the performance improvements will vary based on the type of content and how it’s created, bitmap-heavy content for Flash Player will experience the greatest benefit. Content created for Flash Player that’s embedded as transparent (wmode=”transparent”) will also run more efficiently given the benefits of offloading the HTML and Flash content compositing to the GPU.”

Windows Internet Explorer 9 Beta is now available for download. You can download IE9 Beta from Microsoft website in the language of your choice. It’s available for Windows 7 and Windows Vista only, no Windows XP support as reported earlier.

Microsoft may release Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) on September 15. IE9 release date was announced on Windows Team Blog where James Pratt mentioned that the next generation Microsoft Browser will be rolled out in a private event to be held in San Francisco. Only selected developers, designers and bloggers will be invited to the IE launch event.

Just a reminder for XP users that IE9 doesn’t run on Windows XP and will work on Windows Vista and Windows 7 only.
We have already have access to IE9 developer preview which doesn’t include any UI components. This itself was a big hint that there was something special coming to IE9 UI. Cannot run IE9 on Windows XP? You’re not alone. Although Windows Internet Explorer Platform Preview is available for download its disappointing that IE9 can not run on Windows XP or older versions. Minimum system requirements for Internet Explorer 9 are Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 or latest. IE9 will not even run on Vista Service Pack 1. So in order to install and run IE9, you need to have either Windows Vista Service Pack 2 or must be running Windows 7.
