Apple made the iPhone OS 4 Beta 3 available for download to developers yesterday. Newly released SDK reveals camera specs of upcoming iPhone 4G HD. As per the SDK, iPhone 4G may capture videos at 1280×720 resolution while current standard is 640×480 (VGA). There were already some rumors about iPhone HD to come with 5 MegaPixels camera and camera flash along with a front facing camera, making it a phone capable of capturing images and videos of higher resolution and better quality. Following proof from developer SDK kinda confirms this:

So, finally we get to see Mr. Brian J Hogan, the person who found the lost iPhone 4G prototype. By now, we all knew of Gray Powell as the person who lost iPhone 4G and Gizmodo as the party who purchased it but there was a missing link in the triangle, the person who found the lost iPhone 4G and sold it to Gizmodo. That missing link has been fixed now. Here is the picture of Brian Hogan and he is the person who found the iPhone 4G in the bar. Brian is a 21 year old resident of Redwood City, CA. Here he is:

Apple iPhone 4G HD Launch on June 7? At WWDC 10

On April 28, 2010, in Mobiles, by TechAdmin

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2010 is set to start on June 7. Apple will, most likely, reveal the iPhone 4G on June 7 at WWDC keynote. In WWDC 2009, Apple unveiled iPhone 3GS, while iPhone 4G was announced in WWDC 2008. So WWDC 2010 will probably be the event where Apple will officially announce iPhone 4G HD.

WWDC 2010 may feature more announcements and but iPhone 4G will be the center of attention considering the hype that Gizmodo’s stolen iPhone story got. There is also very little chance for iPhone 4G to be any different than what was revealed by the leaked iPhone 4G prototype. Earlier rumored date for iPhone 4G launch was June 22.

Even after one eventful week of the “lost” iPhone 4G, Gizmodo/Apple saga is getting worse. Gizmodo has just posted that there was a Police raid on their editor Jason Chen’s house in California. This happened on Friday night when Police entered Jason Chen’s house with search warrant. Police seized 4 computers and 2 servers belonging to Jason Chen at a time when Jason was away with his wife. Founder of Gawker, Nick Denton, has tweeted about it saying that it will help them in finding out whether bloggers were considered as journalists or not. It’s because journalists are protected by law and such a warrant can’t be issues against them. Here is the full story as published by Gizmodo:

Now this is interesting. Bruce Sewell of Apple has sent a letter to GIZMODO chief Brian Lam making a formal request to return the lost iPhone 4G. Bruce Sewell is the Senior Vice President & General Counsel at Apple Inc. Here is the screenshot of letter that Apple sent to GIZMODO:

Apple Letter to GIZMODO

This confirms that the lost iPhone was real and now Apple wants it back. On a side note, how many times have you seen Apple “requesting” to return something that actually belonged to Apple.

This is getting funnier. Earlier today, Gizmodo leaked as much details of iPhone 4G as you’d get in Steve Jobs’ keynote. Everyone went crazy and made their stories around the leaked iPhone that was declared “lost” by some and “stolen” by others. Now Gizmodo has a story to tell. They claim that the iPhone 4G was lost in a bar by a drunken Apple Engineer named Gray Powell. The story goes like this:

Apple engineer goes to a bar with an iPhone 4G in disguise of iPhone 3GS, drinks too much and leaves the bar but forgets to take his iPhone with him. Another guy sitting next to him is told by a third drunk guy that there is an iPhone belonging to him. The second drunk guy refuses initially but third drunk guy insists that it may be the iPhone of his friend so second guy should take it. This way the second drunk guy ends up with an iPhone 4G. He takes it home, looks for the owner but to no avail. He experiments with the device and figures out that it actually wasn’t iPhone 3GS but was a lot different device. He decides to try the camera but then the phone crashes. Weeks later Gizmodo get it, from nowhere. May be the drunk guy, obliged by his long-standing love for Gizmodo, sends it over to them who accept it whole heartedly. They break the story and make the world go crazy. Till now they know the story but they don’t know if it’s Gray’s phone. Now they have, somehow, come to know that it’s Gray’s phone, they contacted him and confirmed.

That’s the whole story with lot of unanswered questions.
