Today in a special media event, Apple unveiled iBooks 2 app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch to reinvent the text books. With iBooks 2, users will be able to purchase text books from iBookstore for a price of $14.99 or less. To bring this offering, Apple has partnered with several publishers including McGraw Hill, Pearson and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

After reinventing the Music industry, Apple now plans to do the same with Education industry. The newly introduced text books are targeted to overcome the drawbacks of traditional books.

Once you download and install iBooks 2 app from the app store, head to iBookstore’s textbooks category to purchase and download the books.

GTA 3 Crashes on iPad 1? You are not Alone!

GTA 3 crashes on iPad 1 quite often! Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto 3 for iOS and Android earlier today. If you tried installing GTA 3 on iPad 1, the experience would have been a bitter one, I’m sure. The game works best with devices powered by A4 or A5 processors, so iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch are already among the devices not supported. Supported devices include:

  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 4
  • iPad 2
  • iPad 1
  • iPod Touch 4G

Although iPad 1 is powered by A4 processor and is among supported devices, the game doesn’t run that well in the original iPad.

So, if you want to play the game on iPad 1, be prepared for crashes! There is no solution for it so far and we’re not sure if a game update will fix it.

Facebook has just released Facebook Messenger app for smartphones powered by iOS and Android. You can download Facebook Messenger on Android devices as well as on iPhone / iPod Touch. Facebook Messenger allows you to chat with your friends while on the go.

You can also send messages to a group of friends using the app while it also notifies you when you receive a message.

Waiting for Google Plus for iPhone? The wait is over. Google Plus iPhone app is now available in the App Store. You can download the app for free. The app lets you connect and share with your Google Plus network right from your iPhone.

Google Plus for Android has been available right since the Google+ was launched while the iOS app has been awaiting approval. Now finally its out and iPhone users can share easily with their Circles. iPad users, however, would be disappointed as there’s no Google Plus for iPad at the moment. iPhone version is also available in selected markets, and for those who’re 13 years or above.
