Microsoft Office Suite for iPad to Release in 2012

Microsoft Office is coming soon to the iPad near you. Microsoft Office suite may include Word, PowerPoint and Excel for iPad. According to The Daily, Office for iPad release is expected in 2012. It’s expected to ship alongside an update Office for OS X Lion. Office 365 support is also expected for both versions of Office. According to The Daily:

Microsoft is planning a version of its Office business app for the iPad, The Daily has learned.
According to sources, the tech giant is actively working on adapting its popular software suite for Apple’s tablet. With the iPad making up over 80 percent of the tablet market and millions of people worldwide using Office, that could mean big bucks for the tech giant based in Redmond, Wash.
In addition to an iPad-ready version, a new edition of Office is expected for OS X Lion sometime next year. The current version of the desktop package, Office 2011, officially supports iOS versions up to Snow Leopard. A Lion version, likely available via the Mac App Store, is widely expected. Windows, too, is due for an update, with Office 2012 currently in beta form.

Microsoft Office for iPad in 2012

There are already plenty of office suites available for iPad, including Apple’s own apps as well as QuickOffice & Documents To Go Office Suite etc.. It will be interesting to see what kind of response Microsoft Office for iPad app receives when it launches. Microsoft already has some apps for iOS that include the Bing app as well as some other apps.

How to Edit Word, Excel & PowerPoint Files from Hotmail

With Microsoft Office Web Apps, you can edit MS Excel workbooks and Word documents and PowerPoint presentations from Hotmail inbox. Editing PowerPoint, Word and Excel files is simple, here is what files are supported:

  • Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx)
  • Microsoft Excel (.xsl, .xslx)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx)

How to Edit Word (doc) & Excel (xsl) Files from Hotmail

Step 1: Sign up for Office Web Apps

Step 2: Go to your Hotmail inbox and open any email that has Word / Excel file as attachment.

Step 3: Click on name of the file in the email to open it.

Step 4: Once opened, click “Edit in Browser” to enable file editing. This will upload a copy of the file to SkyDrive.

Step 5: Now make the changes you want, save the file and close it.

Optional

Step 6: Now Hotmail will ask if you wanted to reply to the sender with updated file. A link will be included in the email to the document you created.

Sparklines in MS Excel 2011 for Mac:

It’s the visual summary of your data in Excel 2011 for Mac. Can be very handy to show trends in data and is useful to handle large amounts of information. This feature is already part of Microsoft Excel 2010 for Windows.

Basic Photo Editing:

This feature brings basic photo editing to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2011 for Mac. You can perform the basic editing like removing image backgrounds, color settings right in Office 2011.
