Mozilla had earlier released 5 beta versions of Firefox 4 Mobile and Release Candidate is said to have improved page load speed, better and faster scrolling and improved JavaScript rendering along with bug fixes and other features. Firefox Mobile – Fennec for Android & Nokia N900 Released (Alpha Version)

Firefox for Android & Nokia N900 is here. Mozilla has rolled out Alpha version of Fennec for Android & Nokia N900. Fennec is the codename for Firefox Mobile and alpha version is available for download and testing.

Fennec for Nokia N900 & Android brings support for Add-ons and is the first mobile browser to support add-ons. It comes with lot more features like Firefox Sync.

How to Overclock Nokia N900 up till 1GHz

Nokia N900 1GhzNokia N900 can be overclocked to up till 1GHz. You can follow the simple steps on how to overclock Nokia N900 smart phone:

  1. Download Maemo Flasher Program [Download Link]
  2. Install the Maemo Flasher program from maemo_flasher-3.5_2.5.2.2.exe (latest version at the time of writing)
  3. Download overclocked image for Nokia N900 that you want to use to flash your device. Here is a list of available image files:
  4. Save the downloaded image in Flasher 3.5 folder created by Maemo Flasher. Default would be (C:/Program Files/Maemo/Flasher-3.5)
  5. Now, switch off your Nokia N900
  6. Hold down the u button on phone’s keyboard and while holding it plug your phone with computer via USB cable. You will see a dim Nokia screen with small USB symbol on top right side of your phone.
  7. Now open the command prompt and execute following commands:
    • cd\
    • cd c:\programfiles\maemo\flasher-3.5\
    • flasher-3.5 -k zImage -f –R (Replace the zImage with the name of image you are using to flash.
  8. Wait for the flashing process to complete and reboot your device.

That’s it. You can now check the N0kia N900 processor speed and can see it overclocked.

MeeGo for Nokia N900Finally, you can download MeeGo for Nokia N900 smartphone. Earlier we had reported that MeeGo for Nokia N900 was coming in March. There was plenty of buzz regarding availability of MeeGo for N900 device, today’s official releases clears all doubts. This is however developer release but you can still download MeeGo to Nokia N900. To download MeeGo, you will need the 15 digit IMEI number of your Nokia N900 device that can be found on the box. Go to Nokia hosted page for MeeGo download and provide the 15 digit IMEI number, you will get access to MeeGo OS immediately.
