Apple has approved Opera Mini for iPhone and it will be available for download within 24 hours. This is great news for Opera fans and comes as a big surprise because Opera Mini directly competes with Apple Safari mobile browser. Opera, anyway, submitted the browser for inclusion in App Store, leaving the ball in Apple’s court. Apple has surprised many by approving Opera Mini to appear in App Store. Opera Mini app for iPhone will further strengthen the Opera’s foothold in mobile browsers market and guys at Opera are really excited about it. This is what Opera CEO had to say about the iPhone version of Opera:
Opera 10.50 is now available for download and with this release, Opera has shipped its new JavaScript engine Carakan, replacing Futhark. Carakan is said to be 7 times as faster as the previous JavaScript engine. Based on that, Opera is claimed to be the fastest browser of the World for Windows. Opera 10.50 also adds private browsing and desktop widgets support for the browser. It’s important to note that release of Opera 10.50 has come days after Microsoft started offering browser selection screen to Windows users in Europe. So, it’s well-timed release from Opera to attract European users with features like privacy and enhanced security in addition to browsing speed. Opera 10.5 also supports HTML5 and CSS3 which are becoming popular among web developers lately. It clearly shows the focus is on future of web development and supporting web applications powered by non-flash tools like CSS, HTML5 and JavaScript.
