Apple has approved Opera Mini for iPhone and it will be available for download within 24 hours. This is great news for Opera fans and comes as a big surprise because Opera Mini directly competes with Apple Safari mobile browser. Opera, anyway, submitted the browser for inclusion in App Store, leaving the ball in Apple’s court. Apple has surprised many by approving Opera Mini to appear in App Store. Opera Mini app for iPhone will further strengthen the Opera’s foothold in mobile browsers market and guys at Opera are really excited about it. This is what Opera CEO had to say about the iPhone version of Opera:

We are delighted to offer iPhone and iPod touch users a great browsing experience with the Opera Mini App. This app is another step toward Opera’s goal of bringing the Web to more people in more places.

This is huge for Opera, considering that the iPad has just been launched. Opera could be useful addition to Apple iPad as well as to iPhone. App will soon be available for download, stay tuned.
