Some users are facing Windows 7 Service Pack 1 failed to install error 0x800f0a12 while trying to install Windows 7 SP1. If you’re facing similar error, here’s how to fix it:
Step 1: Open Command Prompt
Step 2: Type “DISKPART” (without quotes) in Command Prompt and hit Enter.
DISKPART utility will open in a new Command Prompt window.
Step 3: Type “automount enable” (without quotes) in DISKPART and hit enter
Step 4: Restart your PC
Step 5: Install Service Pack 1
It should install smoothly now.
Microsoft, today, has officially released Windows 7 SP1 for 32 bit (x86) and 64 bit Systems. Windows 7 Service Pack 1 KB971033 download is available via Windows Update. You can also download it from Microsoft Download Center.
Once you install Win7 SP1, you will have to restart your computer.
