Angry Birds for WP7In a latest update, Rovio has said that Angry Birds for WP7 is not yet confirmed. Here is what they exactly posted on the official Twitter account:

We have NOT committed to doing a Windows Phone 7 version. Microsoft put the Angry Birds icon on their site without our permission.

This just shows how desperate Microsoft is for success of the upcoming Windows Phone 7. Angry Birds is available for iPhone, Android and Symbian at the moment and is one of the most popular games on all 3 platforms. So, Microsoft was tempted to put an icon on official WP7 website to show users that their favorite apps and games were all coming to Windows Phone 7 which quite definitely is not the case at the moment.

Let’s see how much attention WP7 gets to cut the iOS and Android.

Now this is Big! We could experience location based games in WP7! XBox Live in WP7 (Windows Phone 7) will come alongside Bing Maps. This opens the doors of location based gaming in WP7. It will be the Xbox gaming experience powered by Bing Maps right on your WP7 device. Considering the success that Xbox Live and Bing Maps are already, this could be yet another killer feature for Windows Phone 7 and could possibly be the next generation of location based games on mobile devices.

As an example, Microsoft have released a screenshot of Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst for WP7 game that highlights the potential of Bing Maps:

Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst is a tank-like game that uses Bing Maps as backdrop.

Microsoft plans to associate location to your online profile using your device, that will then be used in location based games. To achieve this, Xbox Live, WP7 and Bing Maps teams are working closely. So we can expect something really good.
