TaskTube for iPhone is a jailbreak tweak that lets you control YouTube videos from iPod’s Play & Pause controls. TaskTube adds these controls to YouTube.app in iOS 4.2.1 and works really great. Want to give it a try? First, you need to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 with redsn0w 0.9.6 beta 4 then follow the steps below:
Step 1: Open Cydia and move to “Manage” tab and tap on “Sources”.
Step 2: Now add following repo:
http://cydia.myrepospace.com/metion
To add the repo: Tap on “Edit” (top right), then on “Add” (top left). A window will pop-up asking for source URL. Enter the URL given above and tap on “Add Source”.

Step 3: Now move to “Sources” again, you’ll see MyRepoSpace source in there, tap on it.

Step 4: Now look for TaskTube and tap on it.
Step 5: Hit “Install” (top right). AppSync 4.2 install process will begin.

Step 6: After installing, Respring or Reboot your device.
TaskTube is added to YouTube app now, to see the action:
- Open YouTube app and play any video
- Double click on iPhone “Home” button to open iPod controls.
- You can now control YouTube videos with iPod controls.

TweetDeck, one of the popular Twitter clients, has just launched the version 0.33 that has some exciting new features. TweetDeck now comes with support for YouTube which means that you can view YouTube videos right within TweetDeck and don’t have to open the YouTube links in browsers to watch the videos. There’s also support for Posterous, Mobypicture, Twitgoo, and Flickr and images from all these will now open in the preview box. Mobypicture has also been added as image uploading service in addition to TwitPic.
